I sometimes talk about my PS3 adventures too.

I’ve just played a little bit of Syndicate and I thought I’d share a few thoughts and screenshots with you.

It’s futuristic. I can see through walls due to being a super agent man. I can hack people and make them kill themselves which is pretty nasty, but I’m sure it’ll serve some tactical purpose later on. It’s very bloom heavy and the HUD is intensely busy. There’s so many tiny bits of info floating about on the screen and it’s a tad disorientating. I’ll carry on playing it later and see how my opinions evolve but for now I’m very cautious.

Syndicate to be released on GOG.com

Finally! This is as good as bought.

You can ‘persuade’ and make a whole crowd of people, with the persuadertron.
This weapon lets you basically drug people and the more NPCs you drug the more chance you have of getting higher ranked NPCs on your side.
A handy tool in the dark future.

In lieu of the new Syndicate game, I’m playing the original Syndicate and it’s been too long. I forgot how charming this game is. The cyberpunk atmosphere is RICH. It’s a classic game with tactical depth and mass murder. I’m playing it using Dosbox which is okay, easy enough to set up as per but I hope one day GoG.com get permission to re-rig it for 2011 systems.
I’m surrounded by people btw, because I’ve ‘persuaded’ them to be my friends…or rather my meat shields.

Syndicate Deep Dive “Origins” trailer.

This video goes into what the original game was about and how the new Syndicate will differ slightly. If anything it’s just a dramatic genre change, the key ideas are still there.

11 minutes of Syndicate.

It’s certainly not the game we once knew but I like some of the ideas they’ve put into this. Bullets that can be shot round corners being the main excitable. I’ll have to look elsewhere for a true Syndicate game but this FPS is shaping up to be something interesting in it’s own right.
